Butterfly Bunting

Inspired by birthday party bunting and longing for spring to arrive, I created this butterfly bunting. Hang it across your mantle or in a doorway, anywhere that needs a touch of spring happiness. This extremely easy Extremely Crafty creation can be made in less than an hour. Download template here.

Materials
Various small pieces of pastel cotton
HeatnBond iron-on adhesive (ultrahold)
Rick rack ribbon
Glue

Instructions

1. The beauty of this craft is no sewing is required. To make the butterflies, choose fabric and cut out a piece of iron-on adhesive large enough to fit the butterfly pattern.

2. Two pieces of fabric are adhered together to form the butterflies. This gives them extra strength.

3. Each iron-on adhesive is different, so follow instructions on packet, but generally, iron-on adhesive is sold in a sheet. One side is sticky and the other side is covered with paper.

4. Place the sticky side of the adhesive to the wrong side of the fabric. Iron until adhesive sticks to fabric.

5. Allow to cool. Trace butterfly pattern onto fabric.

6. Cut out butterfly. Peel off paper backing. Stick the adhesive side of butterfly to the wrong side of the second piece of fabric. Iron.

7. Allow to cool. Cut out butterfly.

8. Repeat to create as many butterflies as you desire.

9. Glue the backside of each butterfly’s wing to the rick rack ribbon. Allow to dry and then hang.

10. Extremely Crafty Tip – Glue glitter to the tips of the butterfly wings. Enjoy!
