Dear Reader
Would you like to earn money while you sleep?
“Always have a second source of income” said my mom. “You never know when you’ll be laid off at work, you get ill, or you just need a rest.” (Resting, that’s too often forgotten these days.) My mother didn’t foresee the current credit crunch; she was just using her post-wartime common sense.
The best type of income she used to say (and actually still does) is the type that works for you rather than you working for it. This means that even if you are sick, you still have money flowing into your account.
Many artists are already following my mom’s advice in that they are forced to have a second source of income. While they’re waiting to make it big by selling their paintings or sculptures to a gallery or an independent investor, they often have to subsidize their income by being chained to a desk or waiting tables. What many artists don’t realize is they are perfectly placed to generate the best form of income, the type that’s working for them by licensing their art.
Wouldn’t it be great to design a greeting card that’s sold all across the US and you receive a royalty on each sale?
In this issue of Extremely Crafty, we look at the opportunities in the greeting card industry.
Create happiness through craft, but even better, make some extra cash. That would certainly make me happy!
Michele
